Announcements

Closing
Hi Everyone,
I am sure that you have already heard the announcement from the Diocese and Dr. Muir concerning the closing for the next two weeks of school.  We are hoping that you will take this time as a gift and enjoy spending time with your children.
Here is a video from Fundations to practice our letter recognition and sounds.  www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kbPqHe4u7k
Finally, I am giving you my sign on for ABCmouse.com.  If you go to abcmouse.com on a computer or download the app on any device, login using  eboyle@ascsde.org.  My password is Prek4A.  On the screen it will say student login.  Each child has a picture with their name.  Click on their name and let them play.  I would be best if they were playing games on their learning path but all activities are educational and worth exploring.
We hope everyone stays healthy!  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Friday Update 05/31/2019

Happy Friday!

Man, why couldn't today have been Field Day?  The weather is beautiful and perfect!
Wow, next week is our last full week of school.  Mrs. Tracy asked me to remind you if you have any Library books at home, to return them next week.  Send them in anytime and I will make sure she gets them.
I wanted to remind you about our  End of the Year Pizza Party.  Wednesday, June 12th at 11:30.  All are invited to come and have some pizza and snacks.  There is a regular dismissal for that day, but feel free to take your child after lunch.  We will be showing a movie in the afternoon for those who stay.  If you are coming for lunch, please let me know so that I can get a head count.
Monday, June 3rd has been declared a Free Dress Sown Day by Principal for the Day Amelia!
Have an Awesome weekend!

Friday Update 01/18/2019

Welcome to the Weekend!

It looks like we may luck out this weekend and get only rain, but then again who knows? We could get get dumped on?  Time will tell!

This week we read the book, “The Snowy Day”.  We made a snowy day of our own. We used a paint stamper and white paint to paint a hill and painted bubble wrap with white paint and then pressed it to the top of the hill to make it look like snowflakes and then glued Peter to the hill. We also made our version of Peter for the hallway display.  Both turned out cute!

I have been talking to the Children about “Learning Targets” and things they need to learn for Kindergarten.  We have split up in to Learning Groups for developing clear instructional goals and student learning objectives that go along with the curriculum standards. It’s nice to see the children working together in their group. Working together in Groups is a great way to challenge the children.

Reminders:

  • No School on Monday, January 21st, MLK Day

  • Catholic Schools Week, January 27th - February 1st.

  • Monday, January 28th, we will be collecting gently used towels, beach towels, and blankets for a School Wide Service Project in Partnership with Faithful Friends and Forgotten Cats Organization.  Students may dress down in animal prints, or clothing with animal pictures or names on them.

  • Thursday, January 31st, Mass at 10:00 am, all are invited to attend. We will also be eating lunch with our 4th Grade Buddies.

  • Friday. February 1st show your school spirit by wearing Spiritwear or School Colors (blue, maroon or grey) And to end the fun filled week a Sock Hop at 6:00pm - 8:30 pm.
